Dear all,

Yes, I'm still alive, and to the faithful few who are still checking my blog for updates, it's hats off to you! Presently I am working in Sydney for a plastics company, primarily trading materials for export. Life's been full of ups and downs lately. Church has been fantastic with the likes of Dan Slade from Toronto coming through and blessing the socks off. My parents and cat (Felix) have moved back to Germany, which was huge. I'm still coming to terms with no longer having a home in Hong Kong...hmmm. Other than that, after 3 years, my girlfriend and I are also no longer together which has been a very testing time. I don't know exactly how God has this planned but I am confident that the Father knows best. For all my friends who want to get in touch, my current details are as follows:

3/76-78 Clyde Street,
Guildford NSW 2161
Australia
+61406422782

I hope you're all well and hope to be in touch soon. I should be resurfacing in Hong Kong for a short business trip sometime before August.

hello all,

these crazy gaps between posts are becoming longer and longer. a lot has happened since my last post. at the beginning of may, i left australia to come back to hong kong, after having tried to find a job in sydney for 3.5 months. i was really discouraged because i was so full of hope that something would happen in the 11th hour, but it didn't. i couldn't fully understand why, after so much prayer and effort, it all amounted to nothing. i arrived in hong kong again on 5 may, holding onto the grim possibility of working with a company in 'outback' victoria. i wasn't entirely happy with everything about it but at this point, i was willing to take anything.

i figured that i'd work for a bit in hong kong while i wait for them to get back to me, i thought for 1 month maximum. after a few interviews, i got a job as an english teacher, i was over the moon - i had something, short term, but it was a job!! my uncle in germany had also set up an interview for me with one of his business partners in hong kong the day after i said yes to the school. this guy wanted to expand his company to australia and i thought that he'd slot me into some marketing position for a september/october start. i was wrong. they offered me the chance to go back to sydney, open their office and run their business there. it was well beyond my wildest dreams, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. what was even more amazing was that the date that i accepted this job was in line with a prophecy that i received from another uncle in india at the end of march. he said that something would happen for me regarding a job and australia on 27 may 2005 - the exact date!!! it did!! praise God!

anyway, i was still left with a slight moral dilemna because i'd already agreed to the teaching job. i mean, yes, in so many ways, this was a nobrainer but still, i felt so bad because i had given the school my word. i prayed that weekend for clarity, went to the school on monday and resigned. i explained myself very briefly and surprisingly, they were very understanding and even offered me a job there in the future if i should choose to return. i was sooo relieved. :)

i started working with 'fukutomi' as business coordinator (australia) on 1 june. the business itself revolves around importing/exporting recycled plastics and selling merchandising products. since then, I have travelled to china twice and have just came back to germany from a 12 day business trip in eastern europe. a colleague and i visited suppliers in germany, switzerland, austria, croatia, slovenia, poland, czech republic and slovakia. we must have covered about 6000 km by car in that time. i am so exhausted now...

i'll be in munich for another 4 days, then i fly to sydney, via hong kong, for 2+ weeks to conduct some market research and lay the groundwork. also, i get to be reunited with the love of my life, felicia, whom i haven't seen in 2 months and 18 days (soppy, i know! hehe). it's been really tough but i truly believe that God has really watched over us and the time apart has really helped us grow.

i apologise for the extensive essay, it's now 3:30 am and i really can't be bothered to edit this post. i hope you're all well, i miss you all, wherever you are. i hope we get to see each other again very soon. for all my aussie mates, i'll be back in sydney permanently in september/october. kung fu boys - the Five-Fold Ministry lives baby! also, icc boys, gaming... God bless... d:

Hello all, at long last, an update! This is for all the loyal visitors to my site who have been complaining that I have fallen off the edge of the Earth... Well, where do I begin? It's been an incredibly tedious journey over the last few months. In the meantime, my girlfriend, Felicia, and I have moved to Sydney and I have been madly seeking a job here in order to stay in Australia, as all my other cunning, yet flawed, plans of action have evaporated. I have roughly until mid -April to secure a job before I seriously need to consider packing up and moving either back to Hong Kong or Singapore for a potential job prospect. I have mixed feelings about moving, obviously because Felicia will still be in Sydney and a long-distance relationship will be a little more taxing. However, my refuge is still the Lord and I firmly believe that there will be an abundant blessing (and lesson) wherever He leads me and that He will provide for everything, include my relationship. Anyway, for all those who are interested, my new details are as follows:

David Haering

Summer Hill, NSW 2130

I live with this Indian guy from Melbourne at the moment who is a full-time bellydancer. Maybe I'll pick up some new moves... :)
Anyway, hope you're all well, take care, God Bless wherever you are and hope to be in touch soon.

hey all, it's been a helluva rollercoaster ride in the last few months. had all kinds of crazy issues trying to stay in australia. unfortunately, i didn't have enough points to qualify for aussie permanent residency, so that complicated things. had to fly to new zealand for a week and come back on a tourist visa, etc, etc. anyhow, things have settled a bit but things are about to stir up again with my move to sydney in about a month. i won't be up in honkers this year unfortunately, so i'll really miss hanging out with you all over there. someday soon, i hope.

anyway, i took some pictures in new zealand which i'll put up the next time i make my way to a computer. hope you're all well, and hope to be in contact sometime soon.

hey all, sorry for the loooooooong break in posting. i have been up to my ears in sorting out things like uni graduation, job hunting, visa applications, etc. i think you get the idea that i've been exceptionally busy! anyway, life is good but hectic! church has been fantastic, we had a guy called Ps. Johnson Tsakpornu from Ivory Coast, West Africa come out here to preach. He was an amazing speaker and prophet, revival is coming to Brisbane, watch out! besides that, i celebrated my 25th last week, thanks to all who remembered and tagged or called! For those of you that didn't... i still love you! hehe

it doesn't look like i'll be back in hong kong any time soon either which is bittersweet because as much as i love it here, i'm missing the ghetto too... on the bright side, i can continue practicing for my kangaroo riding license...
a small request, please keep me in your prayers for my permanent residency application. i have to pass a german translating exam in mid-november and my visa extension application is grossly late, i'll be an 'illegal alien' in about 4 days. cheers, appreciate it!
besides all that, i sincerely hope that you're doing well, whoever, wherever, you are, i pray that the Lord will bless you and keep you and that we'll be in touch soon!

much love, david.
(will post new pics asap)
